Simply put "No". The R5 way should work on R6. R6 only users the "Internet Site" documents when you chose to "Enable" the option: 'Load Internet configurations from Server\Internet Sites documents' This is located on the server document Basics Tab the section marked Basics (left side 6th option in the list).

R6 offers flexibility by allow more than one domain (or domains/subdomain) to have the same Internet Site document/Redirections; whereas R5 did not. Each site had to have it own documents.
